Amarinda Keys, Executive Director
Amarinda Keys first became involved with the museum in 2012 as a volunteer, helping with fundraisers and running programs. Amarinda’s experience working at larger museums like the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire and the Pittsburgh Children’s Museum have helped inspired her to dream big. After becoming the Assistant Director and then the Director, Amarinda has worked hard to boost the museum’s program offerings, update the exhibit floor and work towards a new vision for the future of the museum. While these days she spends most of her time in meetings, balancing budgets and working on the strategic plan, her favorite part of her job is still making slime with visitors! She also loves celebrating holidays, reading and whipping up tasty meals in the kitchen.
Lissa Niederer, Community Program and Marketing Manager
Lissa began planning activities and events for the museum in 2014 and was promoted to Development Director the following year. During her time, she started a few museum favorites, including GlowNight, Kids in the Woods Camp, and the annual book sale. After a brief hiatus, Lissa returned to the museum in 2019 as Community Program and Marketing Manager and is excited to be part of the museum’s continued growth in Central Maine. Also a published author, monarch butterfly enthusiast, and sugar cookie connoisseur, she lives in Augusta with her husband, three kids, and two high-maintenance guinea pigs.
Jennifer “Jeffy” Lawrence, Visitor Experience and Back Office Assistant
Jennifer Lawrence, lovingly known as Jeffy, has worked at the Children’s Discovery Museum since 2007, and during these twelve years has been a big advocate for the organization as well as for our members. She comes from a large family and enjoys cooking and crafts, especially quilting.
Abigail “Abby” Stratton, Visitor Experience Manager
Abigail began as a volunteer in 2014 and jumped at the opportunity for a job at CDM in August of 2015. You’ll find her hosting daily programs, date nights, after school classes, and summer camps, presenting the Touch Tank, or attending family festivals with CDM’s Mobile Museum in tow. She is passionate about the museum’s mission of hands-on learning and loves finding creative ways for kids to learn and have fun. Her love of art is put to good use when touching up exhibits or face-painting at events. On her own time, she does window-painting and private commissions, and is currently working towards illustrating a children’s book.
Caroline Mosca, Visitor Experience and Front Desk Attendant
Caroline started off volunteering at CDM in the summer of 2018, and was hired as an employee the following November. She is currently a junior in high school, and participates in soccer, cheering and track. She enjoys working with kids, and would love to pursue a career in pediatric occupational therapy in the future.
