How We Serve The Community

While our exhibit hall is not yet ready, we have lots of fun upcoming programs for families!

Outrageous Outer Space Day


April 1st 1:00 - 4:00

Join us for a day of interstellar activities!


Learn about constellations in a planetarium; eat astronaut snacks; build your own spaceship; launch rockets; and more!

Located at the museum at 7 Eustis Parkway in Waterville.


​ $10/person, no pre-registration required

April Vacation Camp

Half-day camp at the museum

Come & join us for half-day vacation camp! Art, science, movement and open-ended play on the schedule every day.

April 17th - 21st

Ideal for ages 6-9

Camp runs 9:00 - 12:00

[Drop off starts at 8:30, pick up ends at 1:00]

$100 for the week or $25 for individual days


Science Supplements

Mondays 1:00 - 2:30

Join our programs coordinator Caitlin for mini-lessons on the topic of the day followed by a hands-on activity and follow-up reinforcing task. Appropriate for ages 5-12.


Located at the museum at 7 Eustis Parkway in Waterville.


​ $10/child per session, with additional siblings being $5.

An Indoor Performance Series

Join us throughout the cold winter months for a kids' entertainment series including magic, music, juggling, puppets and more!


Spring Tea

April 30th 2:00

You're invited to an English Afternoon Tea!

Join us for a celebration of spring with hot tea, finger sandwiches, and petit desserts from Holy Cannoli.

$6 per person

Toddler Power Hour

At the Museum

Join us at the museum for Toddler Power Hour every Monday from 9-10 am for ages 1-4. This is a time of unstructured play for children to explore our Mobile Museum sets, toy sets, sensory toys, and more. Please note there will be minimal museum staffing and the area will be set up in a way to invite children to play rather than provide adult-led activities.

Supervision is required.

Drop-in $2 per toddler.


Culinary Kids


After School Program

Learn about the science of food, as well as how to make and decorate some super tasty dishes!


Best for ages 6-9

Tuesdays 3:30 - 5:00 [March 7th - April 4th]


The program is $85 for 5 sessions: $70 for registration plus an additional $15 ingredient fee.


There will be a bus running from Waterville Public Schools to the museum for each session, please contact for more information.

CDM Summer Camps

Come & join us for some summer fun!

Two camps to choose from:

Kids in the Woods | Ages 6-9 | at Quarry Road Trails

Kids in the Museum | Ages 3-5 | at the Museum



Farmer's Markets

Tuesdays and Thursdays 2:00 - 4:00

Come play at the Mobile Museum for free this summer!

Starting in May and running into September, the Mobile Museum will be set up at both the Downtown Waterville Market and the Augusta Mill Market for free open-ended play. 

Augusta: Tuesdays 2:00 - 4:00 at Mill Park

Waterville: Thursdays 2:00 - 4:00 at Head of Falls

MaineAEYC's Week of the Young Child
Family Fun Friday

Come play with our Mobile Museum and inflatable dome at the Alfond Youth and Community Center in Waterville! This totally free event is hosted and sponsored by the Maine Association for the Education of Young Children to celebrate the Week of the Young Child, which is April 1st - 7th.
